THE CLINTON STREET STOMP!

Crow Quill Night Owls--The Crow Quill Night Owls are a band that plays jug band, jazz, and string band music of the 1920's and1930's. They were formed in 2007 by guitarist Kit "Stymee" Stovepipe and tenor banjoist Windy City Alex. They've since added Baylin Adahere on washtub bass. The group fluctuates from a duo to a six person band and often features members of other bands in similar genres.

Sons of Rainier--The Sons Of Rainier are a recent collaboration of four musicians, Devin Champlin (Gallus Brothers, Crow Quill Night Owls), Dean Johnson (Lowman Palace), Sam Gelband, and Charlie Meyer (both of Honcho Poncho). They formed in a supernatural occurrence at the coziest of dimly lit bars in Seattle and bonded over a shared interest of singing together. The music rests on the foundation of Devin’s songwriting, and is brought forth with warm tube amps, Dean’s unpredictable, weeping guitar lines, a loosely tuned snare, upright bass, and close three part harmonies. It is 45 rpm folk music that is sweet and haunting. It’s a polaroid of a stolen slow dance.

Blue Flags and Black Grass--BFBG was born around the spring of '11 in Portland, Oregon. The typical gig is usually Flip and who ever else is available at the time. Depending on the players for the evening, BFBG's sound can be more of the jug/ragtime contingent or on the side of the gypsy-swing/bluegrass flavor....reguardless...it's good stuff.
