Things are really f*cked up right now. And here on Clinton Corner, we're doing our bit to make things better.
Every Monday night, come to the Clinton Street Theater, enjoy a film on the big screen (the way it should be seen!), make friends, have a few laughs, scream, cry and raise money for a good cause.
Tonight's nonprofit recipient is Portland Community Football Club.
Portland Community Football Club (PCFC) offers high quality, affordable club soccer for low-income, immigrant and refugee youth between 3 & 18 years old in the Portland, OR Metro area. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
PCFC is committed to being a completely inclusive club. They are the first youth soccer club in Portland to have an open acceptance policy for LGBTQ & gender non-binary players, coaches, staff and families. Founder and Director of Coaching, Kaig Lightner, is an open queer, transgender man who strongly believes that sports provided him with the guidance and strength he needed as a youth. He wants to make sure other youth who identify as LGBTQ find a home at PCFC.
With a thick, thick air of intense paranoia and jaw-dropping monster effects work, The Thing stands as one of the greatest films of both the horror and science fiction genres.
