Clinton Street Resistance presents MOONRISE KINGDOM

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness.

As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore -- and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl's parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.

Things are really f*cked up right now. And here on Clinton Corner, we're doing our bit to make things better.

Every Monday night, come to the Clinton Street Theater, enjoy a film on the big screen (the way it should be seen!), make friends, have a few laughs, scream, cry and raise money for a good cause.

Tonight's nonprofit recipient is GIRLS BUILD.

GIRLS BUILD inspires curiosity & confidence in girls 8 - 14 by teaching them the basics of building. During one-week summer camps, they learn carpentry, plumbing, electricity, concrete, sheet metal and much more! Girls have fun with other girls their age, learning the basics of many trades from skilled female instructors.

'Moonrise Kingdom' magically recreates a child's-eye view of the early 1960s, bringing back memories of tents, tree houses, campfires, cub scouts, innocence, and first kisses.
